That time has finally come -- the time to leave the comfort of your humble abode, your schools, your office, your favorite restaurants, and your newly made friends. Much as you were full of uncertainty when you arrived in Japan, you may now be full of just as much uncertainty about returning home and the new life that awaits you there...and before you can ever learn about said uncertainty you have a ton of things to finish up here. Ahhhh, the process of leaving JET!

With endless farewell parties, saying goodbye to friends, preparing information for your successor, and the ever-daunting packing. Through this process, you will wrap up the last one to five years of your life.

This information is here to assist in this transition a little easier for you and to make sure you don't forget anything. The sooner you start preparing for your departure the better, you'll be surprised how fast your final six months go. Whether it be reference letters, where you are going to live when you get home, jobs, your bills, packing, places you haven't seen yet, people you want to see again before you go, etc., you do not want to be doing this all last minute.

Good Luck!
